Mom Life

Why Kara Keith Calls Southwest Fort Worth Home

Kara Keith, 45, is a mom of two little ones and interior designer who lives in Ryan Place, which she says is a great neighborhood for families.

“The architecture lends itself to large front porches, and as a result, families are always outside. You get to know and love your neighbors,” she says. To her, Fort Worth offers the best of both worlds. “It has everything you want in a city but still feels like a small town.”

Kara’s Favorite Places

Family Time

“During the summer we love the public pools that have recently been updated. The one close to us is the Forest Park Pool that feels like a neighborhood water park instead of the old pool, and it has something for all ages. We also love the Fort Worth Zoo, the train, the museums, the children’s library and Cheeky Monkey.”

Kid-Friendly Restaurants

“We love Zoli’s Pizza, it has a perfect sized playground where you can be at your table and still keep a good eye on your kiddos. Woodshed Smokethouse is also outdoors, and has live music, which the kids love.

An even more exciting family outing is Wild Acre Restaurant & Beer Garden, which has lawn games, a pedal cart track, an air-filled trampoline and a playground! It is next-level restaurant entertainment for the kiddos!”
