Dreamland Preschool is committed to instilling lifelong learning skills and values in young children. We are a school where children are protagonists and where their senses are stimulated.
Reggio Emilia Educational Philosophy
As a Reggio Emilia-inspired school, our educational philosophy is based on the belief that every child is unique and will express their interests in many ways by using art, language, physicality, experimentation, relationships, and many other avenues as forms of communication.
“Originating from Reggio Emilia, Italy, and developed by Loris Malaguzzi, this approach views children as active learners, full of curiosity and potential,” explains CEO and Founder Juan Hope. “Our core principles include a child-centric environment where children drive their own learning through exploration and questions. The environment also serves as a third teacher with thoughtfully designed spaces to enhance learning, and our teachers are facilitators who guide and co-learn with students instead of dictating to them. Our teachers are our heart and soul. They center on nurturing curiosity and fostering a love for learning. Their patience, care, empathy, and enthusiasm create a supportive environment.”
Areas of Development
Dreamland also motivates children to present their ideas in many forms like print, art, drama and music with an emphasis on social learning and peer interaction.
The school’s programs are divided into seven age groups ranging from 8 weeks to 4 years old and focus on four specific developmental strands: physical and motor, social and emotional, language, and intellectual and cognitive.
Discovery Day
Families are invited to attend Dreamland’s Discovery Day on Saturday, July 13, from 9am to 2pm at our Plano campus located at 5017 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093. During the event, both parents and children will be able to discover and experience first-hand the significant difference between Reggio Emilia and more traditional preschools. The day will be filled with lots of fun and hands-on, discovery and exploration activities.
Families who decide to enroll during the event will get 10% off tuition during the first six months. Also, families who attend and register during the event will be eligible to receive 6, 3 or 1 month of free tuition. Some restrictions may apply.
