Play in a neon yellow ball pit, sit inside a whale’s skeleton among a sea of glowing marine life, and step into a garden of green where vines hang from the walls and grass grows underfoot. It’s all part of a new pop-up art experience at SPARK! Dallas. There, walking through Prismatic: A World of Color, is like stepping into a rainbow.
The Instagrammable summer pop-up, which opened on June 2 at the hands-on creative space, was created entirely by local high school students and showcases their vibrant, one-of-a-kind artwork. Six teams of Dallas teens worked to create their own elaborate, single-hued room, enveloping visitors in mind-bending sights and color.
Bring the kids for a self-guided journey through Prismatic on weekends through August 31. With a general admission ticket, you’ll get an hour to explore the pop-up art experience along with access to all the fun at SPARK! Set the kids loose to enjoy the eclectic indoor play space which features a massive slide, climbing and crawling structure and giant Light Bright.
Looking for a different kind of date night? You can also take in Prismatic sans kids at Adult Nights for 21+ on July 15 and 21, August 5 and 18, and September 9 and 23, from 5–9 pm. Admission gets you a two-hour slot to explore the experience, two drink tickets for beer, wine or soda and games, puzzles, and a slew of fun activities.
Joins us for “Beat the Heat” Week, August 7–11 from 10am–4pm plus we will have all ages dates open for September 9, 16, and 21, from 4pm–8pm.
Prismatic hours are 4–8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1–6pm on Sundays. Extended hours are offered on Family Day, Saturday, August 12 from 10am–3pm. General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $18 kids ages 2–17, and $15 for teachers. Adult Night admission is $30. All proceeds go back to support the nonprofit creative space.

More About SPARK!
From the outside, you’d never know this incredible indoor play space exists. A literal underground jungle gym—it’s in the basement of the historic South Side on Lamar building—SPARK! is a hidden gem for kids and adults alike. The ever-changing space is anchored by permanent artworks and a funky play area for climbing, sliding, playing and imagining.
The nonprofit, which opened in 2010, bills itself as a “fully immersive creative environment,” and offers an endless roster of workshops and pop-up activities for children from second grade through high school. Programming is developed with community partners to encourage problem-solving skills and boost kids’ self-esteem and academic success.
Children can visit SPARK! through field trips, camps, after-school programming and weekend activities. Admission is $12, with an extra fee for some activities. The space can also be rented for kids’ birthday parties and other events.
