Uncle Julio's

Vibe: Food, fun, family and fiesta pretty accurately describe the vibe of Uncle Julio’s. If you had an Uncle Julio (or maybe you do), he would probably be much like the restaurant’s namesake: friendly, fun and always encouraging you to fill your plates with his latest recipe.

Why it's tot-friendly:The boisterous, colorful dining room is a great venue for groups of kids. Plus, if your kids are like most in the Metroplex, they’ve cultivated a taste for Tex-Mex. Satisfying their palates at Uncle Julio’s won’t be difficult.

Be sure to try: Order your kids’ selections with a side of fresh fruit. Kids can also order a smaller-sized portion of Julio’s crowd-pleasing fajitas.

Good to know: Uncle Julio’s has recently revamped its menu and added some healthier options for mom and dad. Try the mesquite-grilled salmon filet, certified as heart healthy by the experts at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.

Best times to go with kids: We can’t think of a bad time, although weekend nights might require a bit of a wait. Ask for a kids’ menu early, and let the kids get started on the activities and mini-Spanish lessons.
