There’s no better feeling than checking off tasks from your to-do list. But what happens when you have four or five lists floating around? (Ahem, chaos!) Take time to start afresh this year by revamping the way you write lists.
“There are ways to make a to-do list that work for you,” says Dallas organization expert Lisa Kanarek.
First, she details, decide whether you prefer paper or technology (like a computerized list on your phone). Then, consider breaking down your various to-do lists (for work, home, kids) into separate lists, she says. Create a heading for each list to make identification easy and memorable.
If you find yourself facing the same to-dos day after day, give yourself a break. “If you’re able to accomplish even two or three things on your list, give yourself due credit,” Kanarek says.
