Location: 3600 Morningstar Lane, located off of Interstate 635 and Marsh Lane in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
Why it’s noteworthy: Other than the main play structure, there’s a music section with instruments, a climbing wall and boulder, animal spring toys and construction equipment complete with a functioning crane.
Extras: There’s a water fountain, a paved walkway surrounding the playground and swinging benches in the covered pavilion.
Safety: The play structure has three levels designed with older kids in mind, so little ones will need Mom or Dad’s help. A 3-foot concrete wall separating the upper and lower levels of the playground drops off, creating a potential safety hazard. There are stairs or a slide kids can use to get from one level to the other, but keep an eye on younger ones to avoid tumbles. Morningstar Park scored an A* on the Safety Report Card.
