Like many, I questioned whether having a doula would be necessary or worth the investment when I began our birth planning process. Cristina was not only the best investment we made during my pregnancy but was the greatest support, advocate, and coach I could have asked for during our daughter’s birth. During pregnancy, Cristina was quick to answer all questions, provided invaluable resources and connections for other birth professionals, and was a constant encouragement. Our prenatal sessions were incredibly helpful, informative, and set us up for a plan for success for birth. When labor began, Cristina was only a call away and assisted us with all aspects of early labor at home, helping me to stay comfortable and progress as much as possible in the comfort of our space. Once active labor began and we went to the hospital, Cristina was there and guided us through each moment with kindness, respect, and professionalism, providing hands on assist and coaching to my husband. Even through some unexpected changes, Cristina was calm, helped to process our birth options, and continued to provide strategies and encouragement that kept labor going in the right direction. Cristina was invaluable during golden hour and guided me and my baby through feeding and bonding. I truly cannot imagine the day without her apart of it and would recommend her whole heartedly to any woman who is wondering if a doula is the right fit for them.
