Mom Confessionals are first-person essays that reflect your own experiences, thoughts or lessons you’ve learned throughout this life-changing period of motherhood. We imagine these stories to serve as inspiration, provide advice and encouragement, share a laugh, and remind moms they are not going through tough times alone.

FREELANCE EDITORIAL WRITER; remote

Job Description:
DFWChild is looking for freelance writers to contribute to our print and digital editorial team. The ideal candidate has a background in journalism, lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, is passionate about our audience of moms with kids ages 0–12 years, is extremely detailed in their work, and is a pleasure to work with.

Qualifications:
• Lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
• 1 to 2 years minimum of journalism experience
• B.A. in English or Journalism
• Knowledge of AP Style
• Excellent people skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and punctuation
• Passionate about parenting topics and communicating with our readership
• Highly organized

What You’ll Do:
• Sell digital advertising (website, sponsored content, email marketing, social media campaigns) to local and regional businesses
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
• Tailor proposals to meet client goals and budgets
• Meet or exceed sales goals
• Track sales activities in our CRM system

What You Bring:
• 2+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or a related field (digital media experience a plus)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
• Familiarity with online advertising and social media marketing
• Must live in the DFW area
