Brooke began working with my daughter during a time of transition for our family. The years leading up to her counseling were very difficult for our family. My daughter recognized that she was struggling and requested counseling. She read the biographies of many counselors online and she decided based on Brooke’s that she would be the best fit. The teenage years are difficult and they are even harder when mental illness runs in the family. A parent with a mental illness increases those feelings of confusion lack of fairness in the world and consistency needed to form that safe foundation needed to get through those years. Brooke has been there as a consistent listening ear who is dedicated to getting her through the situations that have come along. She looks forward to her appointments and time Brooke dedicates to teaching her coping techniques talking through situations that have occurred and offering a different perspective. Brooke has also shared websites and paperwork with me that shows techniques I can use to help her. She has been flexible in the location trying to work the schedule so we do not have to travel as far and so my daughter does not have to miss school. My daughter now plans to be a counselor of children and teens so she can help others who have struggled as she has. —Christi, Weatherford
