SummerFest, which runs Thursdays-Sundays through Sept. 6, has plenty of programs that let families experience the luxurious amenities of the hotel.
Kids can take part in fun games and splash around at pool parties, learn to cook at junior chef camps, try different sweets at the dessert tastings and watch fireworks on Friday nights. (Some activities require an additional fee.)
Don’t fret, parents! There’s plenty for you to indulge in, too. Relax and rejuvenate at the Relâche Spa (with special SummerFest rates) or try out the Winemaker dinner series and the wine and cheese pairings.
As a family, enjoy carriage rides, art tours of the Atrium and poolside dive-in movie nights. Stroll along the riverwalk and watch jugglers and musicians perform, and let the kids get their faces painted. Feeling hungry? Visit one of the hotel’s restaurants on Thursday, when kids younger than 13 eat free. Adults can enjoy steaks or special Southwestern delicacies while children nosh on special menu items including mini Kobe burgers, chicken fingers and grilled hot dogs.
Packages start at $179 per night and include one-night accommodations in a guest room, breakfast at the Riverwalk Café for two adults and two children, self-parking and a $50 gift card that is good at all Gaylord Texan restaurants, retail shops and the spa (with a two-consecutive-night stay).
