It might be small, but the playscape at Farmers Branch Park still packs a fun punch—and, better yet, it’s safe, earning an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*
The park’s playscape, near the intersection of Josey and Dennis lanes in Farmers Branch, appears to be aimed at older children and doesn’t offer separate play areas for older and younger kids, so the park might not appeal to your whole brood. But kids ages 5-12 will love the monkey bars, tall and twisty slide, crawl-through tube high off the ground and the small rock-climbing wall. The playscape does offer a shorter slide and swings for little ones, plus open space where they can run.
A word of warning: The playscape is close to Farmers Branch’s Vivian Field Middle School and seems to be a bit of a hangout for middle-schoolers after school, so if you have younger children, you might want to go during school hours!
