Dessert Chips and Salsa from Chef Michael Weinstein

Chef Michael Weinstein is exceptionally good at two things: making deliciously healthy food and growing luxuriously long dreads. He’s known around town as the Dread Head Chef (DHC) and, in addition to working the kitchens of some of Dallas’ hottest restaurants (The Grape, etc.), his claim to fame has come from his latest creation: dessert chips and salsa.

Inspired to make a healthy dessert for his niece and nephew with food allergies, his tantalizing recipes are made with only the freshest, all-natural ingredients. His chips come in two flavors, cinnamon and chocolate, and are gluten-free, dairy-free and made from corn tortillas dusted in his own intoxicating salty-sweet cinnamon-sugar mix. His salsas come in two flavors – strawberry-mango (with basil!) and pineapple-banana-pecan – but be on the lookout for his new creations, pumpkin-cranberry-pecan and spiked peach, to hit shelves soon.
