Community Park in Hurst

Location: 601 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. The playground isn’t visible from the road. Turn in when you see the baseball fields. The park is on the left.

What makes it noteworthy: This playground is wheelchair accessible with a ramp leading right into the structure. There are lots of slides and games along the sides of the structure, including a braille chart and tic-tac-toe. The playground is also partially covered.

Extras: There are well-lit baseball and soccer fields and two sand volleyball courts all within walking distance of the playground.

Safety: The equipment is in great condition but is designed for ages 5–12. Younger kids will need to be closely watched. There is a large plastic boulder to rock climb that leads to the highest part of the structure. It’s narrow and dangerous for young kids. Hurst Community Park scored a 21 out of 24 on the Safety Report Card, giving it an overall grade of an A*.
