MacArthur Park in Coppell

Overall Grade: A* (22 points/ 24 points)

+ Great location
+ Plenty of parking
+ Large field for extra activities

– Some damage to the structure
 Missing equipment

Located on the cusp of Carrollton and Coppell, MacArthur Park sits just south of River Chase Elementary School and steps away from a fire station. The 17-acre park features a large playground in the center of several baseball fields, perfect for batting practice or a pick-up game. There’s also a large field near the playground for extra activities such as soccer or tag football. The structure itself seemed to be missing some equipment, monkey bars were noticeably absent, and the rubber playground flooring has large holes in some sections. Several benches surround the playground, and a concession stand and restroom facility are conveniently located for those enjoying the playground. Also worth noting: The park is undergoing a bit of construction as the city works on opening a dog park in the coming months. The construction has spilled over into the parking lot, but there is still plenty of room. 400 S. MacArthur Blvd., Coppell.
