Russell Creek Park in Plano is a large community park with baseball and basketball complexes, a sand volleyball pit, soccer fields and plentiful space for roaming. The park also has a small lake, hiking trails and a playground area. The playground is located towards the back end of the park by Skaggs Elementary School and features swings for kids big and small as well as shaded pavilions, restrooms and water fountains. Russell Creek Park scored a near perfect A on the Safety Report Card and lost points only for its lack of separate areas and signage for different age groups. With four different slides, monkey bars and so much room to run, kids are sure to tire themselves out after a day at Russell Creek Park. 3500 McDermott Rd.
Grade based on the National Program for Playground Safety’s Report Card at playgroundsafety.org.
