Woods Park in Corinth

Location: 1128 Postwood Drive in The Woods at Oakmont neighborhood in Corinth. Park in the gravel parking lot next to the water pump station, and walk past the basketball court to get to the playground.

What makes it noteworthy: The small, side-by-side play sets at Woods Park are covered, providing maximum shade on sunny days. The play set designed for older children has one slide, steering wheel-shaped monkey bars and funky circular climbing structures. The play set for ages 2–5 offers a racing slide, a climbing wall and an alphabet sign. Next to the play equipment (but outside the awning) is a swingset with two swings for babies and two swings for older children.

Extras: A gazebo with plenty of picnic tables sits right next to the playground, allowing parents easy viewing and some protection from the elements.

Safety: This playground received an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card, although there was some minor litter and graffiti. A couple of parts that were broken or missing on our initial visit have since been repaired by the city. And while the adjacent water pump station is completely fenced off, the wooded area right next to the playground could attract wandering kiddos.
