Woodland West Park in Arlington

Location: 3200 Norwood Drive, Arlington. Located next to the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center.

Why it’s noteworthy: The play structure for older kids has three levels with slides, climbing walls and nets. The structure for younger kids has slides, musical bells and a steering wheel, so kiddos can get some driving practice in early.

Extras: Woodland West Park has basketball courts, tennis courts, a recreation center and a swimming pool. The recreation center has the closest restrooms, but it’s just far enough to make potty emergencies a nuisance.

Safety: This playground is safe.* The equipment looks brand new, and nothing is broken or worn down. As long as kids play on the equipment designated for their age, there should not be any safety issues. There is also a large covering to shade the big play structure, keeping your kiddos and the equipment cool.
