Why Toni Collins Loves Mansfield

things to do and places to go

Mansfield hits all the right notes for Toni Collins, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter (under the name Toni Estes), content creator and mom. Together with husband Johnny, co-founder of a title agency, Collins is raising son Johnny III, 11, and daughter Justyn, 9. What drew them to their community? All my friends lived here and loved it,” Collins explains. After moving here, her family fell in love with Mansfield too.

Favorite family restaurant Our current favorite is MOD Pizza. We love it because we can all get individual pizzas with a wide variety of toppings. The Mike’s Hot Honey is our absolute favorite!

Best green space Believe it or not, our favorite green space is our backyard. We happen to live on a golf course. When it’s closed, my son races his (TCU hall-of-famer) dad out there, and my daughter does cartwheels.

Favorite family outing We love to see all the newest movies at Cinemark. We have been looking forward to going to Mansfield’s newest theater, Flix Brewhouse; it’s still under construction. And we love to get frozen yogurt from Yogurtland. Of course, with COVID-19, we’ve spent way more time at home than we usually do. It will be an adventure getting back out and finding new places to go.

For a night out For a fun girls night in Mansfield, I love Poured wine bar. It’s intimate, with a good selection of wine and some small bites. Super fun for a quick “touch base” with my girls.

Go-to for getting active  My husband and I have a trainer named Roy Williams who comes to our home four days a week to train us. We love it!

For cooling off  We love Bahama Bucks (shaved ice, smoothies and more) and ice cream cones from Dairy Queen.

How they give back We typically give through both our children’s school initiatives. Over the holidays last year, our family gave 250 turkeys to different charitable organizations throughout the Metroplex—including Morning Star Prayer and Resource Center and Samaritan House—that have families in need as their focus.

How she found her mom squad I have some pretty awesome mom friends! I’ve found many through my kiddos’ school. Others are neighbors I’ve added to my mom tribe.

Why Mansfield is great for families Mansfield has a small-town feel I love while still growing every day. And we love our children’s schools. Mansfield has been really great for us. I’ve thought about moving other places, but I can’t seem to bring myself to leave!
