Alysia Rosas arrived in north Lewisville 18 years ago and never left—she loves the diversity and the welcoming spirit of her community. Rosas works at Valley Ridge Elementary and is married to Frank. At one point, the couple planned to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, but these days they can be found exploring Lake Lewisville with their three kids: Sebastian, 13, Bella, 10, and Graci, 9.
Favorite family restaurant Blue Goose has always been a family favorite—a fun gathering place for friends, and our children can cool off in the fountains. A great time is always had.

Best park We have been spending time at Lake Lewisville: walking the paths, playing at the parks, boating or just cooling off with friends.

Favorite family outing We enjoy spending time at Wayne Ferguson Plaza. It has become the heart of events in our community. Our children have grown up attending festivals and having picnics here.

For a night out Marty B’s is great for a date night or gathering. The food is amazing, and we enjoy the live music that is often found outside on the patio. Rusty Beagle is our favorite neighborhood place that never fails. We always see a familiar face when we walk through the doors! Best place to watch football.
Self-care spot Due to Covid-19 my self-care routine has been a bit different, to say the least. Lately I have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of working in our flower beds, reading and time with family.
Go-to for getting active We are so lucky in that we have so many walking paths and trails in the area. We enjoy walking at L.L. Woods Park. My girls love bird watching!

For cooling off We have several community splash pads and pools in the area. Doubletree Ranch Park recently opened and it is the perfect oasis for our entire family.

How they give back We have amazing schools and I have been active in PTA since my oldest was in kindergarten. As a stay–at–home mom, my time was often devoted to our school. My husband has coached soccer in the community for almost 10 years for our three children.
How she found her mom squad Our neighborhood and school created lifelong friends. I get the opportunity raise our children with my mom squad on a daily basis. You have heard it takes a village—we have been so blessed with ours!
Why Lewisville is great for families There are so many reasons to love our area. The schools, parks, restaurants and most of all the people make it the perfect place to raise our family. Our community leaders are always looking for ways to stay in tune to our ever–changing and fast–growing city.
