Southlake has a population of 32,376. Three of those residents are Alison Viktorin, her husband Dustin and their 11-year-old son Cyrus. Viktorin—a voice actress, social media content creator and feng shui consultant—and Dustin, who works in finance, moved their family to Southlake almost two years ago. They came for the schools and fell in love with everything the community offers.
Favorite family restaurant Our fave is Coal Vines. They have the best pizza and a wonderful selection of wine.

Best green space My neighborhood, Timber Lake, has beautiful ponds and nature trails. It’s been such a treat during this pandemic to be able to walk outside my door and have a lovely trail where I can decompress and hear the birds and water trickling in the streams.

Favorite family outing We are quite an active family. My husband and son love to play tennis at our neighborhood courts and golf all over the Metroplex. I like to join them for paddle boarding at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth.

For a night out My fave spot for girl time is Del Frisco’s Grille. I love, love their drink called Youth Serum. The name is fabulous, and the ingredients are super yummy for hot Texas weather. My favorite spot is on their patio. For date night, we enjoy Truluck’s because of the live music and the ambiance during happy hour at the bar.

Self-care spot My favorite place to feel healthy is at Chernly Acupuncture. A Southlake couple owns it. My immune system has never been better! I like to recharge at Bally’s Nail Bar with a nice pedicure, and I love getting my hair done with Anne Wright at the Salons of Volterra—she does the best blond color in the area.

How she found her mom squad I met most of my mom friends through my neighborhood, church or school activities. I’m always up for more friends, so follow me on Instagram @alisonviktorin.
Why Southlake is great for families I have never felt so at home. Southlake has welcomed my family with open hearts. The teachers and school administrators treat our kids like their own; they have so much love to give and bend over backwards to help. There are lots of things to do out here, so we’re never bored. And I really love that wherever I go in town, I know someone. There’s a great feeling of community here, which brings a sense of peace and acceptance.
