Village Park in Highland Village

//NorthTexasChild Favorite

Location: 3000 Saddle Brook Drive. Once you enter the neighborhood, take the first right at the roundabout and the playground, absent of the usual primary colors, is on the right.

Why it’s noteworthy: This forest-themed playground, designed by Landscape Structures, was built with the intention to help children appreciate nature and the world around them. The playground inspires “continuous play,” a 1967 concept which encourages independent decision-making and interaction.

Extras: Intended for children ages 5–12, the playground features a double slide for racing and a rock-climbing wall with rope support. Follow the short trail that leads to a pond with a picnic tables, grills and a fishing pier.

Safety: The playground scored an A* on the Safety Report Card, but make sure younger kids don’t wander into the woods only a few feet away.
