Valley Creek Park in Mesquite

Location: 2482 Pioneer Road, Mesquite. It’s hard to see the playground from the street. Look for the baseball fields; the playground is behind them.

What makes it noteworthy: This large, covered playground has a rubberized surface and play structures for ages 2–5 and 5–12. Spider-boys and -girls will love the variety of nets they can climb all over. Younger kids will enjoy sliding with a buddy on the double slide.

Extras: The park is ideal for little athletes or nature lovers. There are lakes on either side of the playground with fishing piers and ducks. Valley Creek Park is also the home of the Hubert Terry Athletic Complex, which has football and baseball fields.

Safety: This playground scored a 22 out of 24 on the Safety Report Card, giving it an overall grade of an A*. The equipment is in great condition and the whole park is beautiful and well cared for. The lakes are a safe distance from the playground and should not pose a safety threat.
