Colleyville is home for Tina Dieber, a physician at Cook Children’s Medical Center. When she’s not working with parents and patients, Dieber is managing a busy household. She and husband Joe, a fellow doctor, are parents to 11-year-old Victoria; 6-year-old twins Anthony and Genevieve; and pups Bear and Alfred Pennyworth. The Dieber crew loves their home in Colleyville’s Riverwalk neighborhood but takes every opportunity to get out and enjoy their community and neighboring Grapevine.
Favorite family restaurant I love Loveria Caffe in Colleyville. I’m a first generation Italian-American, and so many of the dishes at this family-run authentic Italian restaurant remind me of happy memories from my childhood.

Best park It’s so difficult to choose just one. We love Sparger Park in Colleyville because our kids often meet their friends after school for a quick playdate. We also love City Park in Colleyville for its tree house–themed equipment, which is so unique and beautiful. Parr Park in Grapevine has such fun water features—it always promises a good time, as does Grapevine’s Dove Park (my kids especially enjoy the zip line!).

Favorite family outing My kids like to kayak alongside my husband Joe while he does an open-water swim across Lake Grapevine. We also enjoy Colleyville Nature Center for a quick walk. Even though it’s in the middle of the city, it feels like we are off the beaten path—and their Halloween celebration is always a fun time! And we love to ride bikes along the Cotton Belt Trail. You can ride for miles and miles alongside the train tracks.

For a night out Joe and I enjoy dinner-and-a-movie date nights at either Studio Movie Grill in Colleyville or Cinépolis in Euless. My girls nights usually involve mommy-daughter dates with my girls at Taste Buds Kitchen in Southlake where we take a fun cooking course. I’ve even enjoyed mommy-and-me classes with my son; we had a cupcake bake-off challenge.

Self-care spot I really enjoy getting manicures and pedicures at Deluxe Nail Spa in Colleyville—so much so that I hosted my little sister’s bridal shower there. On my days off, I try to get in a massage by my dear friend Bertha at Evergreen Chiropractic. It’s truly healing for the body and soul.

Go-to for getting active My entire family belongs to Life Time, and we enjoy spending time together at the outdoor pool. We also love going for long family walks or bike rides. My kids participate in local kids’ triathlons—all hoping to become an Ironman like their dad one day. And all three of my kids and I are members of Colleyville ATA (American Taekwondo Association), and it’s been a great experience training together as a family.

For cooling off We have been swimming in Lake Grapevine quite a bit. And the other day, we had the Kona Ice truck come to our cul-de-sac and serve up some snow cones. It was such a treat! We also love Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt.

How they give back Joe and our daughter Victoria started WALLRUS (Waterways and Lakes Litter Recycle/Upcycle Society) to clean up local aquatic areas. They even have bright green shirts with a giant walrus that they wear to be more visible when cleaning up. They also belong to DORBA (Dallas Off–Road Bicycle Association), and they go out with groups of members to help build up the local biking trails around DFW. I like to give back to our community by providing meals to families who are convalescing or dealing with loss.

How she found her mom squad I am blessed with such great friends! Most of my friends are either other doctor moms I work with or whom I have met through the Physician Mom Group on Facebook. I also have great neighbors who really are the best. We have spent Thanksgivings, Easters and Christmases with our next-door neighbors; they are like family. Other local friends are the moms of kids in my children’s classes at Covenant Christian Academy or moms of my son’s baseball friends through the Colleyville Baseball Association.
Why Colleyville is great for families It’s safe, beautiful and peaceful, and the citizens are so friendly.
