Enchant Christmas // Dallas

Not seen in DFW since 2018, this holiday experience is back for more magical nights at the Fair Park Esplanade. Join the search for Santa’s missing gifts lost inside the Christmas Light Maze, and slip on rented blades for the ice-skating trail. Take note: This is no mere rink but a path that winds in and around forest of trees lit with millions of twinkling lights.
Christmas at Gaylord Texan // Grapevine

Skate the 6,000-square-foot rink made with real ice—but this is far from the only winter recreation activity at the Gaylord: snow tubing, building your own snowman, and Santa’s snow throw. Panther Island Ice // Fort Worth

This outdoor ice-skating rink returns for another season at the site of Fort Worth’s only drive-in movie theater. Make a whole day of it with the family by skating under the pavilion and then sticking around after dark for a movie under the stars. Double feature movie tickets are $8 for adults 12 and older; $5 for children 5–11; free for 4 and younger.
Christmas in the Branch // Farmers Branch
Where: The Grove at Mustang Station, 12400 N. Stemmons Freeway
When: Skating rink at StarCenter will be open Nov. 26, 2021 – Jan. 9, 2022; market dates on Dec. 4, 11 and 18
Cost: Check back when pricing is announced. Ice skate at the outdoor rink, opening the day after Thanksgiving, and come back for the Christmas tree lighting with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 4, the first of three market days featuring Santa’s Village and kids activities.
Skate the Square // Frisco
Where: Frisco Square, 8843 Coleman Blvd.

Entertainment and schedules have yet to be announced for Frisco’s Christmas at the Square this year, but previous years have included an outdoor ice skating rink at Frisco Square, a Christmas tree lot, visits with Santa, and horse-drawn carriage rides around the square, all under the view of nightly lights shows.

Ice skate just for fun or join group classes at this indoor ice rink located at the Galleria’s Center Court (with a fabulous view of the Galleria’s multi-levels above). During the holiday season, the nation’s tallest indoor Christmas tree sits at the center of the rink, and special entertainers perform special shows. One particular backflipping Santa shooting sparks from his ice skates—he’s an annual visitor, so check back soon for holiday entertainment at the Galleria, as it’s announced.
Children’s Health StarCenters // Multiple locations

Cost: Public skating admission is $10; free for kids 3 and younger; skate rental is $5
Hit the ice at any one of the StarCenters across the Metroplex. Choose from locations in Euless, Mansfield, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, Farmers Branch, Richardson and Valley Ranch. Check the schedule at your preferred location for public skate times, ice skating lessons or hockey camps, and even the Dallas Stars’ Try Skating for Free Program for all ages, which gives 30 minutes of basic ice-skating instruction with trained coaches.
Allen Community Ice Rink // Allen

Cost: Public skating admission is $5 plus a $3 skate rental.
Sign up your little one age 3 and older for the introductory ice-skating class. Half-hour classes are available three days per week starting at $88 for 8 weeks. Learn to skate side-by-side with your little one during the family fun beginning ice skating class, open to all ages on Saturdays at 10:30am, and check their schedule for open skate times. On-ice harnesses are available, and admission is $5 plus a $3 skate rental. Ready for something more competitive? Join the hockey programs, one for youth and another for adults.
Ice at the Parks // Arlington
Where: Inside of The Parks at Arlington Mall, 3815 S. Cooper St.
When: Open daily year-round, open late on weekends
Cost: Public skating admission starts at $9, free for ages 5 and younger. $4 for the skate rental.
This ice rink inside the Parks at Arlington mall offers seven- and eight-week lessons for kids as young as 3. Group lessons include free public skating the day of and eight free passes to use any time. More advanced figure skaters can sign up for private one-on-one lessons starting at $40 an hour.
NYTEX Sports Centre // North Richland Hills

Cost: Prices vary. Come on Friday nights for $12 admission and $5 for skate rentals.
The home of the Lone Star Brahmas hockey team also offers learn-to-skate lessons for children 3 and up. An eight-week course runs at $99 and registering early gets you five free public skate passes.
