There’s nothing like slipping some skates on and getting on the ice (read: falling on the ice) during the holiday season. Especially here in Texas, it really gives us that winter feeling. So if you’re looking for a great spot to go ice skating with the family, check out these locations below.
Luminova Holidays // Arlington

Cost General admission from $25 adults and $15 on non-peak days, $30 adults and $20 on peak days. Skating is $10 per person.
Visit the world premiere of this holiday attraction taking place both inside and outside Globe Life Field. Luminova features a 10,000-square-foot outdoor ice-skating pond, walk-through light tunnels, light-up games and physically distanced visits with Santa. Be sure not to miss a ride around the stadium on the (free) trackless train.
Panther Island Ice // Fort Worth

Cost $13 admission and skate rental; free for spectators
This outdoor ice-skating rink returns for another season at the site of Fort Worth’s only drive-in movie theater. Make a whole day of it with the family by skating under the pavilion and then sticking around after dark for a movie under the stars. Double feature movie tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 5–11 years.
Skate the Square // Frisco
Where Frisco Square, 8843 Coleman Blvd.

Lace up your skates and hit the ice at Frisco Square. The area is decked out in holiday fashion. The nightly light shows begin at 6pm.
Skating Under the Stars // Farmers Branch
Where Outside the Children’s Health StarCenter, 12700 N. Stemmons Freeway
When Now through Jan. 3
Cost $10 per session for ages 4 and older; free for ages 3 and younger; skate rental $5
The annual Christmas in the Branch festivities include an outdoor ice-skating rink. Due to COVID restrictions, the ice is limited to 40 skaters at a time, and each session has a time limit of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Online registration is strongly recommended; walk-ups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Face masks are required for skaters age 10 and up.
Ice Skate Galleria Dallas // Dallas
Where Galleria Dallas, 13350 Dallas Parkway
When Now through Dec. 24 daily, hours vary
Cost $12 admission; $5 skate rental
Ice skate around the nation’s tallest indoor Christmas tree on location at Center Court. Time your visits to catch the special light shows on the tree (the shows occur daily at noon, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm). And watch for strolling jugglers and stilt walkers throughout the season.
Dallas Stars StarCenters // Multiple locations

Cost $10 for kids age 4 and older; free for kids 3 and under; skate rental is $5
Hit the ice at any one of the StarCenters across the Metroplex. Choose from locations in Tarrant County (Euless and Mansfield), Collin County (Frisco, McKinney and Plano), Dallas County (Farmers Branch and Richardson) or Denton County (Valley Ranch). As public skating is just being reintroduced at the StarCenters, make sure to check the schedule at your preferred location for hours of operation as well as what safety protocols are in place.
