Virtually every little girl dreams of growing up to become a professional ballet dancer. Heather Kotelenets did it. She and husband Alexander have added new roles to their repertoire — that of mom and dad — in 2016 with the birth of their daughter Mila. Every day since has been a balancing act, but true to form, the Benbrook mom does it with grace.
There are high achievers … and then there’s Natalie Jenkins Sorrell. The Spelman College alumna was on track to become an attorney when Wall Street came calling and she discovered a love for the “analytically rigorous” world of finance. “I thought if I worked on Wall Street, I could probably do anything,” she says. “I thought it’d help pave the way for my career.”
Pierce left a counseling position to be a stay-at-home mom to Jude, 9, and Helena, 7. Around June’s second birthday, the seed for a career she never predicted was planted: professional cake decorating.
