Spring Fashion Finds

from suede pumps to fun purses

Though it isn’t “officially” spring yet, it has already started to make an entrance. With that in mind, we’re ready for spring fashion. So long to the heavy coats and thick sweaters (fingers crossed), and say “Hello” to florals and brighter colors. One of our mommy bloggers is all over the trends right now too. Check out a few of her picks.

While some of the “hottest” trends right now are bra tops, fringe and suiting, that doesn’t fit in with my every day mom uniform. I’m not sure about you, but I can’t be chasing around a toddler in a bra top that covers less than my actual bathing suit would.

That being said, I wanted to share some trends that are still relevant and easy to pull together!

Ruffle tiered dresses are seriously my go-to style when I am over wearing my wedgie mom jeans, but still need to be functional and comfortable. This silhouette is super forgiving, but also really flattering on many body types. I love finding versions of this dress that have puff sleeves, bow-tie accents or textured collars. These small details make this style fresh and current. If you are feeling frisky, go for a dense ditsy floral pattern! Pair with some cute sneakers during the day and a natural wedge for a night out.
Jillian's spring fashion findsI am obsessed with the fact that denim shorts are getting longer and longer every year! I used to despise shorts weather because unless your denim was Daisy Duke style, it just wasn’t making the cut—no pun intended. It is so refreshing to see denim shorts cover all of our, ahem, assets. The best way to transition into spring is by pairing these mom-friendly shorts with light weight sweaters and mules of any height. This unlikely combo will get you through those days that bounce back and forth (annoyingly) between being a little too chilly and a little too warm. If you are looking to make a statement with your sweater, try an animal print or a subtle tie-dye.

Boyfriend jeans are known for being comfy and casual, but why not take these old bags out on the town for a spring fling? Pair your most-beloved pants with a sweet-patterned silk blouse and give it the tried-and-true front tuck for an effortlessly chic look. While this outfit would look great with any shoe, try a suede pump in an unexpected pastel tone—texture is everything.

We aren’t done yet! The icing on the cake for this easy, breezy fashionable look is a novelty purse or clutch. Typically, I advise to invest in staple bags, but it’s time to live a little! Quirky, out of the ordinary, icon pieces take every outfit to the next level and will, surprisingly, become a cherished possession in your purse collection. Trust me—the kookier, the better!
