When it comes to taking care of your skin, sometimes other priorities get in the way. But, a well-planned skincare regimen will not only help relieve signs of stress on your face, but also let you begin each day with a fresh, clean start.
The first step, says Rhonda Allison, a veteran aesthetician who leads training seminars in the Dallas area and nationwide, is to cleanse your skin properly. “Most people under cleanse and over moisturize,” Allison says. The skincare expert advises makeup-wearing moms to utilize a white washcloth when rinsing the face, so you’ll know when the makeup residue has been removed.
Next? Protect your skin with sunscreen, “particularly ones that contain a natural zinc oxide base,” says Allison. Zinc oxide contains natural antimicrobials that help soothe minor skin irritations, she explains.
During your daytime routine, don’t forget to give your skin a drink—with a hydrating spritz. Says Allison, “Taking just a few seconds several times a day to mist your face will keep skin moist and hydrated throughout the day—not to mention it just feels good!”
