Entrepreneur and stay-at-home mom Sabrina Ray sells handmade wreaths and wooden signs through AdleyandAvery, her Etsy shop and Painted Tree Marketplace booth. The business is named for her 4-year-old twin girls, who were born premature and have special needs. Ray and her husband Clayton live in Lantana; Disney World is their favorite place, but their neighborhood runs a close second.
Favorite family restaurant We love Hillside Fine Grill. It’s a new restaurant in Highland Village and it’s delicious. Price–friendly for a family with the ambiance of an upscale restaurant.

Best park We love our parks here in Lantana. There are lots of different play areas and equipment for all ages. My girls love playing and sliding as much as possible. We also have a town green space, which is awesome. Normally, May kicks off our Lantana Music on the Green, which has been a Friday night tradition for many years. The green space is also used for other annual resident events: Spring Festival, Fourth of July parade, Halloween events, holiday vendor markets and so much more.

Favorite family outing The Dock is a fun multilevel play area at Trietsch United Methodist Church, and Explorium in Denton is a sensory–filled learning center for the whole family. We also have a few farmers markets on the weekend where, if anything, we can just walk around and get some fresh air. And of course, we love going to Painted Tree in Highland Village. There are a lot of local vendors with shops inside—we love to look around, and there’s always something for each of us.
For a night out There is an amazing group of moms in Lantana that sets up a moms night out on a regular basis. Marty B’s in Bartonville is always the go-to place. They have a beautiful ranch-style dining room; dance halls upstairs; spacious cabanas outside on their patio, where they have live bands playing (on the weekend); large community firepits for s’mores; places for the kids to run around and so much more!
Also owned by Marty is Rustico Wood Fired Grill and Wine Bar. They have a dress code and don’t really offer accommodations for children, which we can all appreciate. Not that we don’t love our children—of course we do—but this is a nice escape with a quiet and more refined dining experience. Clearly, I’m a big fan of Marty!
Self-care spot I love to get my nails done at GrandLux Nail Salon in Flower Mound. And for hair, always Kaitlin Leal. I’m very picky about my hair, and she understands me. We also have some amazing ladies to help with self–care in Lantana too—a massage therapist and a chiropractor that come highly recommended.

Go-to for getting active Walking our amazing trails in Lantana. There is so much in our neighborhood to love, and we have some great wildlife too. We are also a golfing community and have the Lantana Golf Club for members, and community pools, gyms, and tennis and basketball courts as well.
For cooling off We love the amenities of our community, but we are fortunate that we had the opportunity to build a pool of our own. Most summer days, you’ll find us in the backyard swimming and grilling, and on Sundays out front by the ice cream truck that drives through our neighborhood.
How she gives back Another special needs mom and I are working on forming a group, Lantana Inclusion, for those residents and their parents to feel supported and included. This is a brand-new venture, and we are so excited about what the future holds for our community. Stay tuned!
I’m also involved with the Lantana Ladies League, which hosts several charity functions yearly as well as giving back to our community through scholarships and aiding local charities. Recently they provided masks for senior homes, soup kitchens and other service providers. The Ladies League is a great way to meet people with similar interests, get involved as a business owner and also help local charities and causes.

How she found her mom squad Well, we go to church, the Lantana Ladies League, and have also met parents through our kids’ school. As a business we have tried our best to stay involved in our community and have several loyal local customers who have become friends through time.
Why Lantana is great for families Lantana and the surrounding areas have so much to offer. Although my girls are young, we have already been so overwhelmed with all the things to do. The benefit of living close to a large city, but also on the outskirts of the Hill Country, is my girls can go to horseback riding lessons and then go to science camps or gymnastics, swim lessons, dance, organized sports, etc. There’s just something for everyone!
The community is also very loving and giving, and we have a couple of resident–run Facebook pages designed to freely give (recycle) gently used items that your family may no longer need. For our graduating seniors, we recently had a community parade to cheer them on and show our support. And we have so many locally owned businesses who give so much back to our community by hosting events or getting involved with our HOA programs. We love being here and are excited about the many opportunities our girls will have.
