Running Bear Park in Irving has the perfect playground for any child who loves the water, boats or just playing pirates. This unique playground is designed to look like a large ship sailing across the water, with large plastic frogs and alligators for kids to climb on. The smaller playground is great for toddlers because most of the playground is set close to the ground. Kids can climb on the animals, play house or climb through tunnels without ever having to get off the ground. The slide for the younger children is the perfect size for first time sliders; however, the bottom of the slide looks slightly warped by the sun. There are a few spots of rust, but the playground is still in great condition with no broken or missing parts. The rubber surface throughout the playground, along with a close parking lot, makes things easy on moms with strollers. Running Bear Park scored a 22 out of 24 on the Safety Report Card, giving it an overall grade of an A. 2601 S. Story Rd., Irving.
