Renee Schooley’s Argyle Favorites

restaurants, parks and more

Renee Schooley, family manager and mom of three, enjoys raising her family with husband Beck in the Denton County neighborhood of Argyle. See where this family loves to spend their time.

Favorite family restaurant: We are fortunate to have 407 BBQ right here in our community which is some of the best Texas barbecue around. We also enjoy the family-friendly environment at Earl’s 377 Pizza in the heart of Argyle. As an added treat, we love to stop by Gnome Cones for a signature snow cone. 407 BBQ, 831 FM 407 W., Argyle; 682/224-9225; Earl’s 377 Pizza, 427 US-377, Argyle; 940/464-4444; Gnome Cones, 421 US-377 S., Argyle; 940/299-2663

Favorite local park: Our family enjoys visiting South Lakes Park on the edge of Argyle and Denton. There’s fun for all including a great playscape, walking paths and plenty of nature to see. 556 Hobson Lane, Denton; 940/349-7275

Favorite family outing: We love fishing in our neighborhood community pond here in Waterbrook.

Go-to date night and girls’ night spots: There’s no better spot for a date night or girls’ night out than Marty B’s. They have a great menu, and the outdoor entertainment venue provides a relaxing environment to unwind with live music. 2664 FM 407 E., Bartonville; 940/241-3500

For self-care: My go-to for self-care is Sedo Laser in Southlake. They offer amazing services; my favorite is the hydrafacial. The staff is friendly and fantastic, and the owner is one of Argyle’s own. 750 N. Carroll Ave., Southlake; 214/686-7826

Get active: We stay busy and on-the-go with our daughter playing basketball for a wonderful organization, True Texas Hoops—based here in Argyle—and our sons both playing baseball. 972/922-2086

Cool off: Not far from us, our kids love Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke. 290 W. Byron Nelson Blvd., Roanoke; 817/853-0099

Give back: We give back by supporting our schools and teachers, especially during this last year with all the challenges they’ve experienced. We have also enjoyed volunteering through our church, The Well. 191 US-377, Argyle; 940/294-7055

Why Argyle is a great place to raise a family: Argyle has a great sense of community, great schools, and a small-town feel that’s not easy to find.

Find your tribe: While it’s not difficult to make friends in Argyle, a few places I’ve been fortunate to find new mom friends are through church as well as Argyle Moms on Facebook and both Hilltop Elementary and Argyle Intermediate schools.
