Tucked away in northeast Grand Prairie between 26th and 27th streets is Prairie Park. The park features a bright, cheery playscape equipped with slides, swings and other kid favorites in crayon red, yellow and blue. There are multiple benches for parents to perch on while kids explore the play area, but the park lacks pavilions or trees for relief from the sun, which may be an issue in the hot summer months. Although the playground is geared toward older kids (there isn’t a baby-safe swing in sight) and there were small amounts of litter, the playground scored an A* on the Safety Report Card for an overall safe design. Most playground-goers walk from the nearby neighborhood; there is next to no parking, so plan to park on the street. Bagdad Rd. at Main St.
