In December 2024, Children’s Medical Center Plano opened a new, eight-story, 395,000-square-foot campus expansion that rivals pediatric hospitals across our region and neighboring states in size, leading-edge technology and clinical capabilities.
The new tower doubled the size of the Plano hospital and nearly tripled the campus bed count with the addition of 140 new inpatient beds. The expansion also features an expanded Emergency Room with 48 exam rooms—nearly double the previous capacity—and transformative equipment and resources critical to building a Level II trauma center.
The expansion supports enhanced clinical capabilities in cardiology, oncology, neurology, surgical services, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology and other specialties.
As they expand space and access to highly specialized care, Children’s Health reaffirms their promise to grow alongside the community and to make life better for children across the region and beyond.
