Old Orchard Park in Frisco

Grade: A (23 points/24 points)

+ Children can be easily viewed
+ Equipment is free of missing parts

No restrooms
Only one play area for ages 2–5

Wind your way through The Trails neighborhood off Main and Teel streets to find Old Orchard Park, a bustling hot spot for area families. The playground for children ages 2–5 was completed in 2003 and scores an A*. The structure is well maintained and offers multiple play opportunities with four slides, a lookout window, climbing bars and bouncing horses. This park is a kid metropolis, and with only one set of steps to enter the playscape, things can get a little crowded. The highest level of the playscape is the entrance to the twirl slide, so if your little one gives you that frightened look, redirect them to the lower area where smaller slides await them. A swing set is nearby as well as a basketball court. There’s also a nice pavilion area and plenty of running space away from busy streets so your kids can get their roam on.

Grade based on the National Program for Playground Safety’s Safety Report Card at playgroundsafety.org.

This review was distributed to the City of Frisco Parks and Recreation for further review and/or action.
