Sometimes good things come in small packages. Such is the case with the small but sweet Oakbrook Park playground in Frisco (at the intersection of Woodstream and Hickory streets), which earned an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*
The playscape is geared more toward older children, with tall slides, soaring climbing structures and a wobbly bridge that is perfect for jumping. Parents should keep an eye on younger children on the bridge, though: One end of the bridge ends with a platform, but the other ends with just a ladder, creating what could be an easy place to take a tumble. Young children aren’t left out at this playground: They’ll fall in love with the unique old-fashioned, springy horse ride-on. With four little horses coming out from a central post, your little cowgirls and her three best ranch hands can have plenty of imaginative fun.
Don’t forget to explore the park’s lovely green area complete with a creek bed and mature trees!
