North Park in Southlake

Location: 200 E. Dove Road, just east of the DPS training facility and fire station at Dove Road and White Chapel.

What makes it noteworthy: North Park has two different play sets: a slightly smaller structure for ages 2–5 and a larger structure for ages 5–12. Rubber padding around the smaller structure makes it perfect for crawlers. There are four slides total with a shorter and longer slide for each age range. The playground also features several tunnels, ladders and four swings, two equipped with baby seats.

Extras: The playground has a woodsy theme with carved flowers, animals and miniature houses built into both structures. In addition to the fenced-in play area, there are three multi-use athletic fields surrounded by paved walkways and plenty of open space. Adults and kids can rest their weary feet at the partially covered picnic area, and well-cleaned restrooms (including a family restroom), water fountains and a concession area make it convenient to stay and play.

Safety: North Park received an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card.
