Top 10 New Year’s Eve (and Day!) Parties for Families

Kid-friendly events to ring in 2023

Your kids may be eager to ring in the new year, but midnight is way past the kids’ bedtime, so we’ve gathered a few of our favorite parties designed for the whole family to experience that same New Year’s energy during the daytime. For families who do want to stay up, we’ve got more can’t-miss events with fireworks, plus a chaperoned overnight party for the kids, so parents can have an actual date night out.

Family NYE Party // Allen
Where: The HUB, 1289 Johnson Road, Allen
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 from 6–9pm, open through 12:30pm
Price: Free admission; raffle tickets available for prizes.
What to know: Join The HUB in Allen for a concert by Travis Parker Band from 6–9pm and a Family Ball Drop at 9pm. Plus, kids eat free from 6–9pm with an adult food purchase of equal or greater value.

Noon Year’s Eve // Dallas
Where: Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden at Dallas Arboretum, 8528 Garland Road
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 from 9am to around 4pm
Price: Free with admission: $3, plus admission to the main garden: $20 adults; $12 for children 2–12. Timed tickets are required for entry for the garden.
What to know: Meet at the Exploration Center Plaza to make your own 2023 headband and noise maker, join the New Year’s Eve countdown and watch the ball drop at noon sharp, and more activities inside the Exploration Center.

Noon Year’s Eve // Fort Worth
Where: Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, 1600 Gendy Street
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 from 10am–noon; the museum remains open until 5pm.
Price: Free with regular admission: $16 adults; $12 children; free for 2 and younger.
What to know: 
Come dressed in your fancy pants and learn about different New Year’s traditions. You’ll create party poppers, learn about the animals of the new year, and make a “Noon” Year’s Eve resolutions. Then, you’ll will drop your resolutions to ring in 2023.

Countdown to Noon Party // Frisco
Where: Sci-Tech Discovery Center inside Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 North Dallas Pkwy.
When: Saturday, Dec. 31 from 10am–3pm
Prices: $15 for nonmembers; $12 for Sci-Tech members. Timed tickets required.
What to know: Join educators in making loads of educational activities and experiments, such as geometric New Year’s hats, sparkling grape juice gummy spheres, driving the robot calendar course and building animatronic clocks. Don’t miss the electric ball drops (at 11am, noon, 1pm, and 2pm) and fireworks 101 (at 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm).

Countdown to Noon Party at Sci-Tech Discovery Center

Zoo Year’s Eve // Fort Worth
Where: Fort Worth Zoo, 1989 Colonial Pkwy.
When: From 6pm on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 to 9am Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023
Prices: $100 per child; Zoo members get a 10% discount.
What to know: This is a drop-off and overnight event for kids so parents can enjoy a kid-free night out on the town. Go out on a date with your S.O. while the kids go on a night hike with educators and enjoy a movie, crafts and a continental breakfast in the morning.

Epic Family New Year // Grand Prairie
Where: Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, 2970 Epic Place
When: From 1pm on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 to 1am on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023 
Price: $39 for guests over 48 inches tall; $34 for guests under 48 inches; discount for Grand Prairie residents. Buy tickets online to guarantee admission.
What to know: This New Year’s Eve party is complete with hula dancing, circus and aerial performances, games. Come hungry to enjoy a special Hawaiian-themed dinner including a pig on a spit, pulled pork sliders, baby back ribs, coconut shrimp, and delicious mini pineapple upside-down cupcakes.

New Year’s Noon Celebration // Highland Village
Where: The Shops at Highland Village, 1701 Shoal Creek
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022; 11am–1pm
Price: Free admission
What to know: Meet in the shops’ Central Park for a DJ dance party and countdown to noon with a balloon drop with balloons filled with treats and surprises. The party also includes noise blowers, face painting, games, a 360-degree photo experience, a caricature artist, and costumed characters to help ring in the new year.

Jazzberry Jammin’ New Year’s Eve // Plano
Where: Crayola Experience Plano, 6121 West Park Blvd, Suite A100, at The Shops at Willow Bend
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022; open 9am–4pm
Price: Free with general admission, starting at $25.99 online.
What to know: Join Crayola for confetti countdowns, dance parties, and character appearances at noon and 2pm, as well as special New Year’s Eve-themed crafts at the Be A Star, Activity Studio, and Colossal Caddy attractions. Here you’ll create your own coloring page, craft an NYE crown and make your 2023 resolution list.

Over the Top NYE 2023 // Dallas
Where: Reunion Tower, 300 Reunion Blvd.
When: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022; broadcast from 11:30pm–12:30am
Price: Free
What to know: There will be no viewing of the fireworks show from the lawn of Reunion Tower, but in-person spectators are encouraged to watch the show from various vantage points around the city, or better yet, from home online or on TV with NBC 5. The celebratory fireworks show at midnight features pyrotechnics fired directly from the Ball itself 560 feet up.

Day 1 DFW // Irving
Where: Irving Convention Center, 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd.
When: Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023 from noon–7pm
Price: $10 for adults; free for children.
What to know: On New Year’s Day, come out to play at this eighth annual event with face painting, games, bounce houses, live animal shows, magic and circus acts, live bands—It’s all there, plus a fireworks show wrapping up the day. Plus, the proceeds benefit local nonprofit Vogel Alcove, which serves homeless children and their families.
