In the heart of the bustling North Texas area lie 72 acres of unadulterated land where nature can be explored and the soul refreshed. Established in 1981, the Connemara Conservancy in Allen has made it its mission to preserve as much of North Texas’ remaining landscape as possible.
Families with children of all ages are welcome to visit the Connemara Meadow Preserve for nature walks, which take place nearly every weekend. The monthly night walk with accompanying astronomy lecture may be the perfect adventure for older children with a passion for the stars. Admission to the conservancy is free. Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent. Call 214/351-0990 or visit connemaraconservancy.org.
