As a mom, you put your kids first, and while you love to treat them every chance you get, there’s nothing wrong with indulging yourself just a bit on Mother’s Day (or the whole month of May for that matter). From bountiful brunches to picnics in the park, take a minute to celebrate someone who may fly under the radar in the family—you!
HAVE A SPOT OF TEA
Bring your mother, grandmother and your little princess out for an enchanting Mother’s Day celebration. At the Fairy Tale Mother’s Day Tea, hosted by the Plano Children’s Theatre and McKinney Youth Theatre, you and all your favorite women can sip tea and savor finger sandwiches, scones, white chocolate mousse and berries, all while watching a performance of Into the Woods. Characters from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and more will be on hand to make this a fanciful afternoon. Mix and mingle with the characters (don’t forget a camera!) and participate in a raffle for theater tickets and other great prizes.

Be sure to don your own hat for the fancy hat contest, as this year’s honorary chair, Miss Frisco 2011 Kendall Morris, will be giving out prizes for zaniest, most elegant and the hat with the most panache.
