Mom’s Morning Off

The words “mom” and “zen” are not two you would typically use together. Who has time to relax when it’s the end of the school year and the start of summer is just around the corner? Be that as it may, DFWChild offered up an opportunity that moms could not refuse. The 2nd annual Mom Zen event took place the first Saturday in June in NorthPark’s CenterPark Garden.

Yoga mats blanketed the lawn of the garden where attendees were able to take their pick of morning yoga or pilates taught by the talented instructors of the YMCA. Following each revitalizing sweat session, the Center for BrainHealth led moms through a five-minute brain break to achieve complete contentment.

The fun didn’t stop there. Ladies were able to enjoy the rest of their morning off with brunch bites and mimosas from Bread Winner’s Cafe & Bakery, refresh hair and beauty bar featuring Toni&Guy and Kiehl’s, fresh pressed goodness from The Juice Bar, pop-up shopping with Athleta and Lorna Jane, and of course, chair massages.
