For Elyana’s third birthday, mom Dayna O. Tolley wanted to make the day as magical as possible. The creative director and founder of Party On! Events knew that an average birthday bash wouldn’t do, and dedicated months to planning ways to get a unicorn on her daughter’s party guest list.
Party Time Texas supplied the goldenhorned pony (er, unicorn) for the outdoor bash in Plano. Dayna sourced additional unicorn decor and fairy princess finery from independent retailers on Etsy. Elyana and her older sister, 9-year-old Olivia, donned pink tulle skirts from Ruffles and Tutus and flower crowns by Isabella’s Boutique and greeted guests while on horseback.
After the dozen or so guests visited with the magical four-legged creature, the festivities moved indoors—signaling Elyana’s outfit change. The birthday girl dressed the part for the magical day, opting for a pink-and-gold skirt and matching T-shirt with a gold glitter unicorn and the number three emblazoned in light pink. She and her guests also donned similarly hued unicorn headbands from Kenzee’s Kloset.
At the end of the day, the crew enjoyed a family-style dinner at Olive Garden (Elyana’s favorite), which gave Dayna the gift of very little cleanup from her professional-grade party. But before dinner, Elyana managed to dig into her birthday cake: dark chocolate with raspberry filling, decorated in pinks and gold with—of course—a gold horn.
