10 Things: Laura Busby Hale’s Favorite Spots to Satisfy Pregnancy Cravings

The insider's guide to the city's best snow cones, kids boutiques and healthy bites

Maybe it’s because I’ve been pregnant all summer, but I have very specific places I love to go get a snow cone. Ruby’s Sno-Balls in East Dallas is my favorite, and then there’s a place called Gnome Cones in Argyle. It’s worth the drive—it’s so cute and it’s all-natural, so you don’t feel bad.

I’ve been craving a lot of fruit, so I’ll either hit Whole Foods and get the premade fruit or I’ll go to Unleavened and get an acai bowl. Mi Cocina has a really good taco salad and I’ve been indulging in that too. My favorite lunch spot is Sassetta.

Hatch belly masks are great! Your skin feels super smooth after you take them off.

I got The Baby Owner’s Manual by Dr. Louis Borgenicht and Joe Borgenicht for my husband but really enjoyed reading it. I’m visual and the diagrams really help. I don’t know much about newborns or infants so it was very informative.

For baby clothes, I love Beatnik in Oak Cliff and couldn’t help but splurge on some pieces when I found out I was having a girl.

I waited too long to get a body pillow and should have invested in one sooner. It was definitely a lifesaver these past few weeks.
