Kiest Park in Dallas

Location: 3080 S. Hampton Rd. Located at the intersection of Hampton and Kiest. The playground isn’t visible from the street. Turn north into the park and the playground is on the far north side next to the tennis courts.

Why it’s noteworthy: This wheelchair accessible playground has three large play structures for all ages. There are more than just swings and slides for little ones; a teeter-totter, metal cars, trivia games, drums, bells, tic-tac-toe and much more will keep the kids busy.

Extras: Kiest Park is one of the largest in Dallas at over 250 acres. It contains baseball fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields and basketball courts. There’s also a second, smaller playground on the west side of the park.

Safety: This playground scored an A* on the Safety Report Card. The equipment looks new with only a small amount of rust on the metal cars; however, the excessive amount of litter covering the surface of the playground distracts from the safe and exciting equipment.

Pluses & minuses:
+ Playground is wheelchair accessible
+ Three separate play structures
+ Stroller friendly
+ Restrooms throughout

– Equipment contains some rust
– Playground covered in litter
– May be difficult to locate the playground

Our grade: 4/5 stars
