Josey Ranch Lake Park is situated on a 100-acre greenbelt connecting Thomas Park and Jimmy Porter Park. The Josey Ranch Lake Park includes a 50-acre sports complex, a 3.5-acre lake with a fishing pier, picnic areas and a playground. The playground is well kept, shaded and situated on rubber surfacing but barely scraped by with an A on the Safety Report Card. Points were lost for possible safety hazards associated with an artificial rock connected to the play structure. Kids may enjoy scaling the rock, but its height coupled with a lack of guardrails is likely to make parents nervous. Direct your kids to one of the multiple slides instead. Bring your fishing pole and a soccer ball to kick around for a fun day at Josey Ranch Lake Park. Just be sure to keep a close eye on your children as they explore the playground. 1440 Keller Springs Rd.
