Location: 1721 Stonegate Drive. Joe Skiles Park is minutes away from Denton’s Golden Triangle Mall at the corner of Stonegate Drive and Hollyhill Lane.
What makes it noteworthy: The play area in this 5.5-acre park has five slides with a rock climbing entrance to get to the top, four swings and lots of shade. There are benches and a drinking fountain near the playground.
Extras: There’s a soccer practice field and two tennis courts. The playground is surrounded by practice fields for children interested in sports, including a basketball court with three hoops.
Safety: This playground received a B* on the Playground Safety Report Card. There are no signs posted regarding expected behavior and no separate play areas for younger and older kids. Also, the rock climbing wall has no guardrails, making it a hazard for little ones.
