Jessica French homeschools her four kids—Jase, 13, Allyson, 10, Finn, 7, and Maebry, 5—and teaches in the local homeschool community, which has been a source for friendships too. French and her husband Shawn live in the Village Estates neighborhood, where their family enjoys walks and bike rides on a nearby trail.
Favorite family restaurant Hillside and Rosa’s Café
Best park Doubletree Ranch Park is fun because the kids can run and play in the green space or play area, and there are walking trails and a pond, if you want to fish.

Favorite family outing We enjoy family walks and bike rides on a trail close to our home. We will also fish in local ponds or the lake.
For a day or night out Painted Tree Marketplace is a such a cute place to walk around! Board and Brush is also a fun outing with girlfriends. My husband and I enjoy quiet meals together at Mi Dia, fishing, and walks together.

For cooling off We usually go to Las Colinas Country Club for a swim. Also, our sweet neighbor across the street invites us over to swim.

How they give back My husband, oldest son and myself volunteer weekly at our church in our kids department teaching a class. My husband also volunteers with local sports and is on the board with the baseball association. I also volunteer teaching in our local homeschool community.
How she found her mom squad Homeschool communities that we have been involved in have been such a blessing for our family. Also, getting plugged in to our church has resulted in sweet friendships.
Why Highland Village is great for families We love that everything is nearby, from sports to stores and green spaces. The families we have met here have been kind and welcoming.
