Our Grade: 4/5
Where is it? 1605 High Pointe Lane, Cedar Hill. Located beside West Intermediate School.
What makes it special? J.W. Williams Park in Cedar Hill is the ideal park for active, older children. The park has a unique exercise course. For older kids or adults, this course is a welcome addition to their exercise routine. Three large slides and two swings complete the playground.
What else? Along with tennis courts and a multipurpose practice field, there is a large covered pavilion and picnic tables. The playground is fairly basic, so you may want to bring a football, Frisbee or soccer ball to use in the field.
Is it safe? The playground equipment is in good condition and scored an A* on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card, however, there is some rust and inappropriate graffiti. The park has only one play structure for ages 5–12; younger children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Don’t miss: Stop by between sunset and 11pm on the third Saturday of each month. Telescopes are provided by members of the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas, so you can view the sun through special filters. For more information, visit tasobserving.org.
