Location: 1303 Iris Lane, Lewisville. Located directly north of Austin Ken Ellis Park, just south of Main Street. The park is visible from Old Orchard Lane.
Why it’s noteworthy: The playground features an electronic interactive space that teaches kids about wild animals. It also has an area dedicated to musical play. Two large awnings shade the entire playground.
Extras: The playground sits on top of brand-new turf, providing a softer cushion should a child fall from the equipment. There is also one special infant swing that offers over-the-shoulder support.
Safety: The playground scored an A* on the Safety Report Card, but make sure kids wear shoes with a good grip so they can run on the turf without slipping.
Pluses & minuses:
+ Water fountains and restrooms nearby
+ Full-size basketball court and open field for play
-Benches are located several feet outside of the play area
-Limited parking on street
