VIBE: A cowboy-chic steakhouse with a fancy, yet still somewhat informal feel, III Forks offers a Texas French twist on one of Dallasites’ favorite pastimes: noshing on beef! A warm and friendly staff (expect the manager to stop by your table) gives this hotspot a VIP edge over other steak emporiums.
WHY IT’S TOT FRIENDLY: This isn’t his first rodeo; Gene Street, local restauranteur extraordinaire and owner of III Forks, has kids of his own and knows how to cater to them. Managers (or Street himself) will often stop at your table and bestow your little meat eater a sheriff’s badge. The restaurant also features a kid’s menu with cuts just their size. Tours of the kitchen are also available upon request.
BE SURE TO TRY: The Oscar Filet, when available, is hands down our fave and, although pricey, very much worth the splurge. Don’t pass up an opportunity to go all out with a side of the cream corn (watch the kids ask for seconds!). For those little ones with taste buds that are far more advanced than their years, order the beef medallions.
GOOD TO KNOW: Reservations are a must. III Forks also offers a complimentary photo of the entire party for special occasions.
BEST TIMES TO GO WITH KIDS: Kids will feel welcome at any time, but to make you more comfortable, shoot for the earlier time slots (around 6 or 7pm) before the chi-chi crowds really hit.
