Location: 534 Apollo Road in Galrand's Coomer Creek neighborhood. Park in the small lot where Willowcrest Drive meets Apollo Road.
What makes it noteworthy: Kids feel like they're in the wild as they explore this jungle-themed playground. Although the play structure is relatively small, it sports a regular slide, double racing slide, triple racing slide, two regular swings, and two baby swings, plus built-in toys, a rock climbing wall and other climbing features. Tall plastic "treetops" stationed over the play set provide minimal shade.
Extras: Coomer Park has a large open field for active play and a half-mile walking trail for a stroll with the family pet; however, only one bench and two picnic tables offer spots to sit while you watch your children play. And with no grills or restrooms, the park is best for a quick trip to release some energy.
Safety: Though the playground recieved an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card, keep in mind that big kids and tots will have to play together on the park's single play set. Also, the wood-chip fill contained minor litter at the time of our review.
