Free Comic Book Day

If you have been looking for a good time to introduce your kiddo to comics or just reading for pleasure in general, this weekend provides a great opportunity. This Saturday, participating local comic book stores will be giving away free comic books! It's all part of the 12th annual Free Comic Book Day. Every year, comic book publishers offer free comic books on the first Saturday in May to entice new fans, reintroduce old fans and to thank current fans for their patronage.

Free comics up for grabs this year include KaBOOM! Summer Blast, Hello Kitty and Friends, Might Morphin Power Rangers, and many more.

Everyone loves sharing photos, and this year, posting a photo of your little superhero with their free comics could score them a gift certificate to your local comic book shop.
